If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you can probably see that I like to put words on a page. I love writing about EMS and find it to be one of the favorite things I do every day. Writing about EMS is a chance for me to collaborate with my peers, to speak with an audience of people for whom I have the utmost respect and share a lot of the same passion for the advancement of EMS.
But that’s not all I can do.
When I started this blog, I had one clear objective in mind. I wanted to help improve EMS. I still do. I want to improve EMS not only for our patients, but also for my fellow EMS professionals. Sure, I’ve derived more personal satisfaction from this blog than I ever imagined that I would, but “Improving EMS” is still my guiding principle.
I have some things that I’d like to offer out there to my readers. I have a few skill sets that I think could be of value and I would like to offer them up. These services aren’t free, but they’re not unreasonably expensive. I am offering these as a service to Small-to-Mid-size groups and Volunteer agencies on a sliding fee scale, negotiable upon scope of the request and the service requested.
If any of these seem interesting to you, please contact me at: ProEMS1@yahoo.com

Data Processing and Information Management
People talk of the Legend of the Great Red Data Ninja… Am I that Ninja?? Some say it is so…
EMS agencies, Fire Departments, and other emergency service providers generate huge volumes of usable data. However, as a whole we do a terrible job of collecting that data and putting it to good use. It’s a little known fact about me that I am a master user of MS Excel and I have years of experience managing statistical, demographical, and GIS data for… my secret squirrel job that I don’t publicly speak of. I take huge amounts of raw information, cut it into usable form, and can generate answers to questions you may have not even known you had. When information is measurable, results are achievable. If you can measure it, you can then find a way to change variables to get positive results.
Possible Services:
- Help with Large Data Projects – Got a lot of data that you need to process to get usable data? I can help. Send me the MS Excel, Dbase, or .CSV file and I can help you get back on top of your numbers, fast.
- Send Me Your Data then Ask Me Your Questions – Your ePCR program captures a lot of data, right? You might also capture data from other sources, right? (Because you really should be). Canned reports and templates answer some questions… but the real power of data is asking it free-form questions to get clear answers. I can take your data and find the answers to the questions you have.
- Need generic help on MS Excel? – I can do that too. The only thing I really can’t do is macros (and there, I said it) I can solve most problems you have. If I can’t, the work is free.
Suggested Pricing:
- $50.00 – $75.00/hr – I’ll give you an estimate of the hours upon you giving me the project. Minimum of 1 hour.

Public Speaking
If Ascorbic Acid is known as “Vitamin C”, then does “Ascerbic EMS” get to be known as Vitamin CK?
This joke and many better ones can be had by inviting me to speak at your conference or event. You choose the topic, or let me choose my own. I will travel regionally within IL, IN, IA, or WI for a nominal fee, or can hop on a transport at your cost anywhere else. I can speak on a wide range of topics regarding EMS and it’s accoutrements.
Suggested Fees – Um… Nobody’s ever paid for me to speak before, usually it’s just been pay for me to shut up… Seriously though, the price is negotiable. Also, if nobody claps, your speech is free.
